September 2019 Newsletter

·       Our next Sage Society meeting is on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at 4:00 in Room 124 of the Sandstone Building (the OLLI Room) at USCB.  Come early to socialize!
·       Stuart Heath will give her presentation: The Beaufort National Cemetery

·       _________________Member -at-Large:

1.    At the meeting you will call for two volunteers to join you on the Nominating Committee.
2.    Your committee will meet and determine the slate.
3.    The officers are: President, Secretary/Treasurer/Historian, and Member-at-Large. Officers serve two-year terms.
4.    You will present the slate of officers to the membership at the October meeting.
5.     After the slate is presented, I will send the slate out (by email) to the membership and ask if there are any objections.   *** If there are no objections, the slate will meet with their counterpart to train and get notebooks before the January meeting.  The slate will be officially voted on and installed at the January Annual Meeting and the new President takes over then.
6.    Members: Please be prepared to volunteer to be on the Nominating Committee. Thank you!
7.    Members: Please be prepared to serve as an officer if asked.
Duties are minimal, and the responsibilities are spelled out on a monthly calendar. The club is designed to be low key.

·       Everyone: Do we want to increase our membership over twenty-one or are there current members who wish to resign?

In the event that we have openings due to resignations, give Geni Flowers Bouquet, Secretary, names of potential new members at the October, November, and December meetings. Include a brief biographical paragraph.

1.    I will share the nominations and bios with the membership before the January meeting.
2.    You are encouraged to invite potential new members to one or two meetings.
3.    Let the Secretary and President know who you will bring as a guest. Geni will prepare a name tag for them.
4.    All potential new members will be put on a waiting list and voted on at the annual meeting in January. The top “vote getters” will fill the open spots and the others will remain on the waiting list.
5.    We currently have 21 members which was the goal.
