Stuart Heath called the meeting to
order at 4:00 pm.
Special
guests: Alvesta Robertson, Debbie Gray, Susan Boyd, Peg
Marty, Marilyn Harris, Geri Connors and Nimmie’s husband, Don Huber were acknowledged.
The minutes of the April 10th
meeting were approved.
Carolyn Witkofsky’s resignation was
noted and it was mentioned that Donna Armer is traveling and will miss the
November meeting.
There was a discussion regarding the
blogspot https://thesagesociety.blogspot.com/ . It was suggested
that the membership list be posted there but was decided that since this is a
public site, it may not be the best place for it. A current membership list
will be sent out to all members in January.
There was a report from the
nominating committee, Jerry Stocks, Melba Thomas and Barbara Hathaway. The new board elect is Nimmie Huber, Member-at-large, Geni
Flowers will continue to serve as Secretary/Treasurer/Historian and Martha
Weeks has graciously agreed to serve as President. These are 2 year terms.
Thanks to the nominating committee for their hard work!
Reminder that bios for perspective
members are due to Geni by December 26th. We will vote on new
members in January.
Washington DC – Off the Beaten Path
was explored through the eyes of Nimmie Huber in a wonderful presentation
complete with beautiful slides and a Metrorail Pocket Guide for all attendees.
I believe we all left with a list of unique places to visit on our next trip to
DC. A brief question and answer period followed the presentation.
The meeting adjourned at 4:45.
The next regular meeting of the Sage
Society will be held on Tuesday, November 13th at 4:00 pm in the
OLLI classroom (room 124 of the USCB Sandstone building.)
