The Sage Society
May 2021 Newsletter
Dear Sage Society Members,
We are screeching into the month of May: the month that Sage resumes our in-person meetings! Yes, we will meet at the brand-new location of Pat Conroy Literary Center on May 11th. If you have said you will join the tour at 3:15 (there are 14 of us so far) please note that their amazing new location is 501 Bladen Street, the corner of Bladen and King. There is parking in the lot on the side of the Center and additional parking across King Street. Both Director Jonathan Haupt and Donna Armer will be conducting our tours.
Then at 4pm we will settle into the lecture room (safely distanced) for program by Martha Weeks on “ObitKit”. (Note that chairs are at least 2 feet apart and the Center “prefers” that visitors be vaccinated, but you should use your own judgement about what is comfortable.)
On June 8th at 4pm we will go to our regular time with a program by Ruth Anne Lawson on The Manhattan Project.
September 14, again at 4pm, Mary Ann Mikell will have the program, “The History of the Spanish Moss Trail”.
Jerry Stocks will have our October 12th program.
Three matters of business: Julie Schmidt has resigned and moved to Northern Virginia. We shall miss her, but wish her well. I will have a program sign up sheet for openings in November, March and May. Be thinking about what you might want to offer. And third, Peggy Pickett has a new email peggpickett@gmail.com.
