The Sage Society
January 2022 Newsletter
Dear Sage Society Members,
Happy New Year! I am thankful we are able to meet in person and thankful for the beautiful space provided for our meetings at the Pat Conroy Literary Center. Lots has changed since last January!
First of all, we accept with regret the resignation of charter member, Rebecca Davenport, who has resigned for health reasons.
Our January 11th meeting is a business meeting and we have a few items to discuss including choosing a beneficiary of our “dues.” Please bring $25 in cash so we can collect, vote and then promptly disburse the gift. Sandi Atkins and Jen Moneagle will serve as the “Dues Selection Committee” and have researched a new idea for our gift.
Secondly, we would be enriched by having a few more new members! Ideally, we would like to have 21 members. The Bylaws state that names need to be submitted 10 days before voting, so names have been sent for your consideration by the time you receive this newsletter. We will vote on January 11th.
Mission Statement:
The purpose of The Sage Society is to foster ongoing in-depth study of topics using research and communication skills to further the knowledge of its members.

A note from Larry K, our Tech consultant and honorary member:
Also, some good news! I stopped by to talk with Jonathan today at the Conroy Center - Via a grant, they have just installed a computer (Apple laptop) to their TV, as well as a webcam. This means that:
a) anyone wanting to bring in a USB stick can either plug it directly into the back of the TV and the use TV remote to control the show (it supports images and video) -- or
b) plug their USB stick into the laptop and control it from the computer.
